New pretties at wrenne.
Although I love vintage fare and intricate details, there are days when my mood feels the need for the clean lines of modern simplicity. These sleek, lightweight matte silver doves seem to quietly take flight and are a new take for everyday wear or even the modern bride. Available through my etsy shop.

i heart Anthropologie
I can't tell you enough how much I LOVE to shop here! I try to go to Anthropologie often as they always have new arrivals and to gain inspiration from the visual decor (which by the way, is unique to each store) and translate it into my own home - but usually, to stalk the next piece on my wishlist until it goes on sale!
A Christmas present from my hubby - the Gumshoe Sweater Coat by Charlie and Robin. My closet is starting to build up with Anthropologie pieces, but this by far is my most favorite! I am a sucker for ruffles and this lightweight coat has the most beautiful details! I recently tucked it away like a treasure because due to the warmer weather, I find that I can't wear it as often. 'Til the fall I suppose!

old magic
New pretties at wrenne.
This necklace is one I wear often and quite possibly my favorite piece. It seems to tell a tale of old fortunes and such. I see it as an old magic crystal ball that it's teller has long forgotten about.
Gold filled bali beads flank a matte smoky gray lucite bead hung upon nickel free gold plated chain. Now available through my Etsy shop.
This piece has been featured on Cool Ranch Studio's treasury!

lounging
There is something to me, about being able to pamper myself from time to time. It's a seldom occurring event, with all the penny pinching my husband and I have to do nowadays. It's a whole hour when I can get away from reality and just be with my thoughts. Recently, I was able to "getaway" to a salon called The Lounge tucked away on one of my favorite streets in Berkeley. I stumbled upon it while strolling on 4th one day and decided to make an appointment to get my toes all gussied up.

The Lounge logo is a silhouette of a chandelier, which I instantly fell in love with and was drawn to because let's face it, I am a sucker for all things beautiful, chandeliers being one of them. The inside of the salon is very airy and spacious with high ceilings and simple, modernly elegant decor. The logo is translated in the salon with huge black lacquer chandeliers for lighting and even bigger silver silhouette on one wall of the salon. The staff is serious, but friendly and the salon itself is quite clean. They have amazing massage chairs to sit in when getting your pedicure. The music of Billie Holiday filling the space seemed to be played off of an old vitrola, which is something I would have loved, but not likely. They have countless nail colors from O.P.I and a few types of pedicure soaks to choose from which I opted for their "Ice Cream Pedicure." I can only say that my little piggies and I had an indulgent, sorbet filled, relaxing time!

mad obsession
With all the reality shows conquering tv like the plague, it's refreshing for me to find a new obsession in AMC's drama Mad Men. It's beautifully written on the glamorous and ego-driven world of advertising, where everyone is selling something and nothing is ever what it seems. Add to that, with my love for anything vintage, the setting in 1960 New York "The Golden Age," it's perfect styling has me completely hooked.
